Points east-Raleigh area:
I-40 West to exit 105 (Morganton). Off exit turn right onto Hwy. 18 - go through Morganton. 18 will turn into Hwy. 181 North as you travel out of town. Travel approximately 24 miles crossing into Avery County. 3/4 of a mile into Avery County you will pass a sign saying Blue Ridge Parkway Ahead. After you pass the parkway sign take the first road on the left. This is Hanes Rd. Take the first driveway to the right (gravel driveway) leading up to our A-frame house at the end.
Points West-Asheville area:
Asheville to Marion on I-40. Take Hwy. 221 North from Marion toward Linville Falls. Turn right onto Hwy. 183 and travel to the end. At the stop sign, turn left onto Hwy. 181. Follow 181 less than a mile to Hanes Rd. located on the left. Turn left onto Hanes Rd. Take the first driveway to the right (gravel driveway) leading up to our A-frame house at the end.
While you are in the area don't forget to schedule some time to enjoy the natural beauty of our area. There are always plenty of recreational activities for you and your family no matter what time of the year. While we are primarily known for our premiere skiing in the winter, we have even more to offer in the summer. Hiking, fishing, white water rafting, golf and tennis are just a few of the options you will find available for your enjoyment. In the fall there are several local festivals and art fairs, the best known of which is the Wooly Worm festival which takes place in nearby Banner Elk, NC. So come up for a visit, our dogs aren't the only thing you will fall in love with.
